Vision: Fairfax High School students will receive an academically challenging and balanced 21st century education inspiring deep questioning and peaceful action. Fairfax High School will foster a positive school culture to support students academically, socially, emotionally, physically and philosophically.
Schoolwide Learning Outcomes
Leaders: Students will be given multiple opportunities throughout high school to lead teams, both in class and in clubs. Students will see themselves as part of a team and learn to work with team members effectively.
Independent thinkers: Students will be able to think critically and analytically about given situations and events. Students will learn to defend and concede to arguments, learning that if others have a different opinion, that does not necessarily make them wrong.
Opportunity seeking: Students will seek out opportunities to enhance their education, social and emotional well-being and career opportunities. Students will be coached and encouraged to work on these opportunities as soon as they become available.
Negotiators: Students will learn to work with others to create win-win scenarios through the presentation, defense and justification of thoughts and ideas.
Scholars: Students will receive a high-quality education that teaches them to be flexible, creative and cognitively aware of the world.
