PLANNED MAINTENANCE
Dear Los Angeles Unified Family,
WHAT: The Planned IT maintenance provides the Technical Team the opportunity to perform vital maintenance and implement preventative measures. During a maintenance, the team may perform, but not limited to, the following:
- Run through emergency outage procedures
- Perform systems health checks
- Updates to software, operating systems, and/or databases
- Implement security patches
- Fully test the wide-area network
WHY: Information Technology Services (ITS) strives to provide Los Angeles Unified with high-quality technology services. Periodic maintenance is essential to a healthy computing environment and to minimize the risk of unexpected outages. Work performed during the maintenance cannot be done on “live” hardware or software.
WHEN: From 8:00 pm on Friday, August 1, 2025, to 6:00pm on Sunday, August 3, 2025
Through consultation with many District offices, these dates and times were selected to minimize impact on schools and central offices’ operations.
UP or DOWN? Throughout the window, the availability of some District applications may be impacted, regardless of accessing from inside or outside the District’s network. The following applications will not be impacted:
Employee / Contractor Email (mailbox.lausd.net)
District Website (lausd.org) will be available; however, certain areas within the website may not be accessible through the login
Users can resume normal access to the applications upon completion of the maintenance work at 6:00pm on Sunday.
ANTICIPATED FUTURE MAINTENANCE DATES:
November 7-9, 2025
March 20- 22, 2026
June 12-14, 2026
